(Virtual option is also available) \nTopic: Motivational Interviewing. \nWhen: Friday\, April 17\, 2026 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM \nWhere:  Administrative Office of the Court \n1300 Quince St. SE (Eastside Plaza 4) \nOlympia\, WA  98501 \nJoin us for an interactive retreat focused on strengthening Motivational Interviewing (MI) skills tailored to therapeutic court settings. Grounded in the principles from Motivational Interviewing: Helping People Change and Grow\, this training will help you: \n\nBuild trust and partnership with court participants\nApply the Spirit of MI (PACE: partnership\, acceptance\, compassion\, empowerment)\nPractice core skills like open questions and affirmations (OARS)\nNavigate ambivalence\, sustain talk\, and discord effectively\n\nThrough guided exercises\, group discussions\, and practical application\, you’ll leave with tools to engage\, focus\, evoke\, and plan for meaningful change with clients. \nIn person registrants must register by March 20th to be included in the lunch count.  In person registrations received after March 20th may need to provide their own lunch. \nPlease reach out to Adam Pithan if you would like to register for this event. \nadam.pithan@courts.wa.gov
