This lecture will review safety optimization strategies and evidence-based treatments for stimulant use disorders, including special attention to populations at elevated risk of HIV. By the end of the presentation, participants will be able to: 1. Contextualize stimulant use disorder and substance use among populations at elevated risk for HIV using epidemiology and syndemic theory. 2. Apply safety optimization techniques to support the wellness of people who use stimulants. 3. Translate clinical research on treatments for stimulants into therapeutic prescribing practices.
